Dick Vitale to UK fans: ‘Don’t panic’

College basketball commentator Dick Vitale has a message for panicky Kentucky fans: Don’t push the metaphorical panic button. Back away from the edge of the metaphorical ledge. Calm down.

“Don’t panic,” Vitale said. “Billy Gillispie will get them rolling.”

With tongue in cheek, Vitale expressed unhappiness with UK veterans Joe Crawford and Ramel Bradley, plus freshman Patrick Patterson.

Vitale is pseudo mad because all the preparation he did for Kentucky’s games in New York this week are out of the window.

“I can’t use those notes,” he said. “Now all I do is prepare, prepare, prepare for Gardner-Webb.”

No one is panicking. People vented after the loss, and a small minority of fans online questioned if he’s the right guy for the job. Per usual, you clowns in the media let the minority speak for the majority because making UK fans look stupid and over-the-top makes for good press.

Constantly sucking loudly for air and yelling at the top of his lungs, Vitale tells UK fans not to panic.

I don’t know why Vitale is worried about his notes. He will just spend 30% of the game talk about Coach K and Duke like he does every game, whether Duke is playing or not.

Dave is 100% correct. Most of perception is created by the media.

I personaly think there was a big reason Tubby elected to get out when he did. I mean come on we are starting a walk on. Lets give Billy a chance to get his recruits in and then see how we are.To be fair Tubby was an ok coach but he knew this was going to be and off year so why not leave on his terms.(now Billy can get the machine oiled back up and running the way it is supposed to)
