Louisville opens up second half with rally

Louisville jumped on Kentucky with defensive pressure to start the second half. UK committed turnovers in three of its first four possessions.

Louisville converted with nine straight points to take a 39-31 lead. UK called timeout with 17:54 to talk it over. Coach Billy Gillispie went with a small lineup that many think are his best players: Ramel Bradley, Joe Crawford, Jodie Meeks, Derrick Jasper and Patrick Patterson.

Those players slowed Louisville’s charge. The Cards led 41-35 at the first timeout of the second half.
