UK loss steers prospect elsewhere

Garrett Stutz, the 7-footer from the Kansas City area, cited Kentucky’s loss to Gardner-Webb as a factor in his decision to commit to Wichita State. He had also been considering SMU.

“I was like, ‘Wow, I think God’s trying to tell me something here,’ ” Stutz said of his reaction to Kentucky’s loss. “I think that was the final sign. God was leading me to Wichita State.”

UK had not offered Stutz a scholarship. He was among the prospects who visited Kentucky during Big Blue Madness weekend.

I realize that Witchita St. has had some good teams recently, but if them and SMU were his only other options, he can’t be that great of a prospect. Besides, he sounds like he’s got quite an ego if he thinks God engineered one of the biggest upsets in UK history just to send him a message.

Only the sharpest of intellect would cite a loss to Gardner-Webb as reason to not go to UK. I’d say the Lord was helping us more than him.

IF HE HAD USED HIS HEAD HE WOULD HAVE LOOKED AT IT THIS WAY MAN THEY SURE COULD HAVE USED ME IN THAT GAME AND HE COULD HAVE BEEN 1 OF THE BIGGEST STARS IF HE WAS THAT GOOD OF A PLAYER.
